Original Message: Well i just got back the MRI, and according to my Doctor, I have 2 herniated discs in my lower back and 2 herniated discs in my Neck and 1 Buldging disc in my Neck. here is the Results of my MRI.

Lumbar Spine

The L3-4 disc is normal in height and signal. There is a Focal central Disc Herination creating Impingement on the Neural canal.

The l4-5 disc is normal in height and signal. There is a Right foraminal herniation, creating impingement. Clinical Correlation is recommended.

CERVICAL SPINE.

C3-4 disc is normal in height and signal. There is a focal disc buldge, creating impingement of the neural canal

C4-5 C5-6 Disc is normal in height and signal, There are Central Herniation's, creating impingement on the neural canal.

What does this all really mean? My doctor said that Not Much can be Done, and that i would have to go to pain management and deal with the pain.

For about good year now, i have been feeling tired, lost strength in my Hands' Things just drop for no reason, I get pain in both arms, feels like someone has a vice grip on my arms and squeezing hard, numbness in my Fingers, pain in my wrist, Tingling pins in my fingers as well. paing running down 1 leg or 2 legs at times, spams on my lower back and neck, electric shock on the bottom of my foot when i walk, or the top of the foot. numbness on my toes, and also vice gripping pain on my foot at time's. for a while now i thought i had bone cancer cause it hurt so much. but i finnaly got my answer, at my job there is no light Duty, i cant sit or stand for a long times, cant feel my hand's get headaches and blurred vision, iam cranky at hell at time's and iam a young 41 look like 28 and feel like iam 78, walk with a light limp, back is stiff and so is neck, which tilts to the side, but when i put my chin on my chest my neck feels good, its the only position my neck is confortable.

What does the MRI mean? will i be able to work qualify for SS or 3/4 of job pay, i work for fedex all this happed do to a slip and fall at work, and also the neck was a accident when the rear axle came off the tractor trailer i was driving 60 MPH on the Highway, "Mechanic forgot to put in pin on bearing, after doing break's. just need to know i can get some kind of compensation if i wont be able to work again. Thanks

Reply: Well your doctor is mostly a quack. Pain management will do nothing more than mask the underlying symptoms but do nothing for the underlying problem. Basically it will be similar to stopping a leak in the hoover dam with a piece of duct tape. Surgical intervention should be a last resort but there are other alternatives. Spinal Decompression as well as Chiropractic care is worth a shot. From the sounds of things, they can be a last ditch effort in helping you and if they do not work, well your back where you started so really you dont have much to lose here.
